Karajoz

Derek Townsend's Karajoz coffee company was born out of his involvement with the legendary DKD cafe which was once hidden away behind Queen Street's beautiful Civic Theatre. After learning the art of coffee roasting in San Francisco at Cafe Trieste in the Latin Quarter, he started roasting with a 12 kilo Probat roaster, and named his coffee after the Karajoz shadow puppet, part of Middle Eastern folklore.
